The Best Jordan Release of The Year (So Far) Drops This Weekend
What's the key to the Air Jordan 1 holding its throne atop the sneaker game? Variety, consistency, experimentation, and nostalgia, and one of this year's best releases fall heavily into the latter category. The "Georgetown Hoyas" Air Jordan 1 High 85 is the first release from Jordan Brand to feature a "new" approach to its cut and fit that harkens back to the original Air Jordan that first released in 1985.
With the "85" style, Jordan Brand has dug into the archives in an effort to get back to their roots with true-to-original retros. The Hoyas edition is rumored to be a team exclusive for Georgetown athletes back in the day but the details will make this retro one of the best releases of 2022. The higher cut and extended tongue might have ties back to 1985 but they also feel like a Jordan-made Virgil Abloh variation of the Jordan 1. Of course, the more precise details come with a slightly higher price of $200.
You can grab the Air Jordan 1 High 85 from places like Sneaker Politics on April 2nd.
