Basketball and sneakers have tied together since the beginning of the sport but in recent years, sneakers worn on the court have struggled to garner the attention that casual kicks and collaborations have. That said, Zion Williamson is one of the most hyped players to arrive in the NBA over the past few years and Jordan Brand is readying his second signature sneaker, the Jordan Zion 2, in hopes of changing that narrative.
Thanks to @apolloluo1976 we have an early look at the Jordan Zion 2 in a bold new colorway. Like many signature sneaker lines from Nike, including the Kyrie, KD, and LeBron lines, the Zion line takes on a forefoot strap for its second iteration. The mid-cut style of Zion 2 is equipped with Zoom Air and Williamson's personal "ZW" logo on the tongue and a new "ZW" embossed into the outsole on the front toe. Noticeably absent are the typical Jumpman logos that adorn Jordan shoes and thanks to the white and bright multi-colored accents, the overall look and feel has some tennis-like like nostalgia vibes.
No release date is set for these but we'll be on the look out for more info as we await Zion's return to the court.
