With the countless media platforms and streaming services, and the endless amounts of movies, series, and entertainment fighting for our collective attention, when a show becomes buzzworthy on social media, there is no stopping it. It’s the modern-day snowball effect that every creator dreams of. If an averagely popular show is a snowball, Stranger Things is an avalanche. The Dungeons & Dragons-inspired show follows a handful of kids from the functional town of Hawkins, Indiana. While Nike jumped on board to collab in the early seasons, Vans is taking their upcoming partnership with the popular Netflix show to new heights.
Vans is no stranger to partnering with movie franchises. In fact, with their most famous collab, they literally doubled the company’s revenue. That kind of success also makes it difficult for sneakerheads. With so many good colorways, it’s hard to choose a standout sneaker amongst the Sk8-Hi, Old Skool, Slip-On, and Authentic silhouettes that are all releasing as a part of the collaborative collection. The Old Skool “Hellfire Club Style 36” features a black and red crackle print covered with skulls, axes, and throwing stars from Dungeons & Dragons. The Slip-On features all-over print logos and the Era features “Surfer Boy Pizza” graphics. However, the real appeal of this collab will be the customizable elements that you find on the Vans Customs site. Look for these to drop on August 26th.
