When it comes to iconic colorways from Nike the Air Max line is filled with unmistakable options. From the first Nike Air Max in 1987 and its bright red accents, The Swoosh has made the launch colorways of its now-famous runners unforgettable with every new release. Even with colors like Infrared on the AM90 and Neon on the AM95, the Silver Bullett Nike Air Max 97 stands out amongst the greats thanks to what might be the most unique colorway on ANY sneaker, period.
What makes the Silver Bullett AM97 most interesting is that it doesn’t use the formula of traditional colors with a “pop” color adding some head-turning brightness. Instead, the entire upper takes on the silver hue. Not only is silver an uncommon color for sneakers, aside from the occasional Swoosh and its use as an accent color, the Silver Bullett Air Max 97 is one of the only original colorways to use an entire silver upper. With the addition of full-length Air Max cushioning and reflective details wrapping the upper, the colorway is still as perfect as it was when it first released 25 years ago.
