Heading into the holiday season, and one of the biggest times of the year for new movie releases, it’s no surprise that today we see a new collab between adidas and Marvel, celebrating the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film. Wakanda Forever is the second Black Panther film in the series that was reinvented with the late Chadwick Boseman taking on the leading role of T’Challa back in 2018. For 2022, many of the original cast members will return, including Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, and more. With the film set to release on November, 11th, this adidas collab surely won’t be the only partnership that we see take on the Black Panther story and aesthetic.
For this collab, adidas has chosen 4 silhouettes to carry the modernized Black Panther aesthetic. The adidas Ultra Boost 4D, which is the combination of the popular Ultra Boost but with a futuristic 3D printer midsole, features embroidered elements on the toebox that are inspired by the famous Black Panther “claw” necklace. The Black Panther x adidas Mahomes 1 comes with a touch more purple than the rest of the styles and with the NFL season underway, it’s perfect for Patrick Mahomes fans. Similarly, the Black Panther x adidas adiZero Primeknit Cleat gives an on-field option for those looking to level up their football footwear. Last but not least, adidas has given their popular performance tennis model, the adidas adiZero Ubersonic 4 the black, purple, and gold, Black Panther treatment as well.
Look for the Black Panther x adidas collection to be available on September 30th at select adidas retailers.
