Spring 2022 Air Jordan Retro Preview
Sneakerheads around the world have something to celebrate this week as Kobe's late wife Vanessa Bryant and Nike have reached an agreement to bring back Kobe's Nike signature sneakers. If you recall, Vanessa and Nike failed to reach an agreement back in 2021 and the price of Kobe's signature Nike sneakers skyrocketed. We can expect the Nike Kobe line to relaunch with the Nike Kobe 6 Protro in the "Mambacita" colorway that leaked a year ago. Even better, all of the proceeds from the sales of that shoe will go to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
Of course, that news got us thinking about the Kobe sneakers we'd love another shot at, so here are 8 of Kobe's Nikes We'd Like To See Retro.
Nike Kobe 8 "What The"
Original Release: 2013
The Nike Kobe 8 seems like a perfect choice for a retro (or Protro) but seeing Ja Morant wear them a while back makes them top of mind.
Nike Kobe 11 "Mambacurial"
Original Release: 2016
The Nike Kobe 11 is under appreciated at times but when Stanley Johnson laced up a pair of the Mambacurials it was a reminder what's missing from my Throne.
Nike Kobe 4 "Be Legendary"
Original Release: N/A
Devin Booker's relationship with Kobe has long been documented and any of his player exclusives are Throne-Worthy to say the least, but those "Be Legendary" 4s are on another level.
Nike Kobe 1 "Prelude"
Original Release: 2013
Any and all of the "Prelude Pack" that released in 2013-2014 would be a welcome addition to any sneaker head's collection.
Nike Kobe 5 "Dark Knight"
Original Release: 2010
You don't have to be a Batman fan to appreciate the Kobe 5 "Dark Knight" colorway that Tobias Harris wore a couple years ago.
Nike Kobe 4 "DeMar DeRozan PE"
Original Release: N/A
Few players have the player exclusives that DeMar DeRozan have and it would be impossible to choose just one colorway of his to re-release.
Nike Kobe 10 "HTM"
Original Release: 2015
The Kobe 10 didn't quite have the allure that other models in the signature line did but there is no denying the beauty of the HTM releases and their Flyknit uppers.
Nike Kobe 5 "Aston Martin"
Original Release: 2010
If you remember Kobe Bryant jumping over an Aston Martin, you'll definitely be on board fora retro of this colorway that De'Aaron Fox wore a while back.
