With all of the photoshopped colorways and leaked info that is constantly landing on social media, it’s usually a best bet to wait for official announcements or photos from a reputable source before getting too worked up about upcoming releases. Today, however, is an exception and the excitement outweighs the eleven months we will have to wait before adding these two releases to our Thrones.
According to Zsneakerheadz, one of Kobe Bryant’s most loved colorways is getting a remake for the 2023 Holiday season. The “Reverse Grinch” Nike Kobe 6 Protro flips the green and red hues in opposite placements to add a new take on what is arguably the most popular colorway from Nike’s Kobe line. The mockup of the colorway below is just for reference and the actual release will likely have other details and slight variations.
That’s not the only certified classic making a return later this year. The Air Jordan 11 in the “Defining Moments” colorway will also be returning. Originally released in 2006 as a part of a pack with the Air Jordan 6 in a similar black and gold color palette, the DMP AJ11 is considered by most sneakerheads to be the best non-original colorway of the iconic shoe. The AJ6 returned on its own in 2020, so it only makes sense that the Jordan 11 make its return as well. If you were around for the original release nearly 17 years ago, you might recall that some pairs released with the “JORDAN” branding on the lace loops. As of now, we don’t know which version of the Air Jordan 11 “Defining Moments” will be released. The photo below is of the original pair and just for reference.
