Social Status Is Dropping 4 New Penny Collaborations
Throughout the mid-90s, Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway was one of the most exciting and popular players in the NBA. From playing alongside Shaquille O'Neal on the Orlando Magic, to being the only player to ever have Michael Jordan wear his signature sneaker, Penny's signature line rivals the best ever created. Yet, somehow, Penny's kicks seemed to have taken a back seat to other sneakers in recent years.
It has been a while since the sneaker community was excited about Penny Hardaway sneakers but this year Penny's sneakers seem to be making a huge comeback thanks to big name collaborations like these newly unveiled Social Status releases. As a sister brand to the popular A Ma Manieré, we've come to expect great things from Social Status. From the first look at their 2 Nike Air Penny 2 collabs and their 2 Nike Air Penny 1 collabs, it looks like they will be delivering greatness for Penny Hardaway fans.
No release date has been set for any of the 4 Penny collabs from Social Status but thanks to photos from House of Heat, there seems to be a lot to look forward to. First off, the two Penny 2 colorways are reminiscent of something you would see in an Eastbay Catalog back in the day with a Carolina-esque colorway. The Penny 1 collabs both tie in sports outside of basketball with interchangeable Velcro Swoosh logos and details that we haven't seen on the Penny line before. Stay tuned for more info on these Social Status x Penny collabs as we get closer to a release in the coming weeks.
