First Look! Union x Nike Dunk Low
Union is one of the most respected boutiques in the game thanks to some incredible collaborations with Jordan Brand. For 2022, the Los Angeles streetwear brand is partnering with one of the other team's from Beaverton on yet another iconic silhouette. The Union x Nike Dunk Low will release in early 2022 and let's just say, you might want to just make room in your Sneaker Throne for them now.
For those not familiar, Chris Gibbs is the man behind Union Los Angeles but the Union brand dates way back to the '90s and New York City. NYC in the '90s gave birth to countless skate, streetwear, and sneaker staples, and Gibbs actually worked for Union in one of his earliest jobs before relocating to LA in 2003. Holding down the LA-streetwear scene for years, Gibbs and Union leaped into the mainstream with their Air Jordan 1 collection back in 2018.
While the details are sparse at this point, Union's take on the Nike Dunk is a complete reworking of the Dunk's materials. The upper consists of ripstop nylon in a grid-like material. Reflective material wrap the heel and cover the Swoosh logo. The upper features double-stitched overlays, and what appears to be unfinished hem lines, add even more character. Union's branding can be found just above the Swoosh, much like it's previous collabs. The Dunks also feature a button with Union's Frontman logo, which can also be found under the translucent outsole. Along with this colorway, a darker blue version is also in the works, which will release in the spring of 2022.
