Throne-Worthy: A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 3
If you've been into sneakers at any level over the past 3-4 years, you've probably seen or purchased a release from one of the Whitaker Group's stores or online shops. Whitaker Group was founded by James Whitner back in 2005. Over the last 15 years, he's opened Social Status, A.P.B., A Ma Maniére, and more. With around 20 retail locations and more on the way, Whitner's premiere brand, A Ma Maniére is launching their very first collaboration with Jordan Brand.
What's been most impressive about Whitner's journey is less about sneakers and more about what his brands do for the community. From working directly with Nike, to building out the beSOCIAL program, where he gives "Free Game" to aspiring entrepreneurs through Q & A sessions, Whitner has found the formula that both inspires and educates on social issues and conversations that need to be elevated.
The A Ma Maniére x Jordan 3 is an elegant take on the classic Jordan silhouette featuring tumbled leather, grey suede, embroidery work, satin liner, and more. The tasteful colorway is accented with "Violet Ore" for an ever-so-subtle pop. Surprisingly, you won't find Elephant Print on this Air Jordan 3, instead a brushed suede in grey is used. The Jumpman on the tongue has also been replaced with the A Ma Maniére "A" on the left foot, yet somehow, taking away the iconic Jordan elements doesn't seem to take away from the shoe at all.
No release date is set for these right now but it is rumored to drop later this year in full family sizes. Whenever it does, you can bet this Throne-Worthy release will be on display with the best of them.
