Auburn's Finest Is Being Celebrated With A New Retro

Bo Knows might be one of the most widely-remembered marketing campaigns in Nike's history but in 2022, do sneakerheads know who Bo is? Outside of a handful of appearances at Nike events over the past few decades, Bo Jackson has been one of the most low-key athletes with a signature sneaker line that is still getting retroed.

For those not familiar, Bo Jackson played professional baseball for the Kansas City Royals and professional football for the Los Angeles Raiders during his career, making him the perfect athlete for Nike to launch their training line that includes iconic silhouettes like the Nike Air Trainer 1, Air Trainer SC, and countless others. While the Nike Training category has ebbed and flowed in terms of importance over the years, what the original category established is a staple line of retro product that is nearly always in production.

According to Sneaker News, one of the most popular sneakers in the Bo Jackson line up is making its return this year. The Nike Air Trainer SC "Auburn" colorway was one of a just a few variations that released back in 1990 but it was far and above the most popular colorway. While the colors aren't exactly the same as team colors of Bo Jackson's college alma mater, they were originally inspired by, and they've long-been associated with the Auburn Tigers.

While no release details have been revealed at this time, the overall aesthetic, colors, and material choice makes it seem like Nike is taking the Air Trainer SC back to OG-form. That makes these Throne-Worthy, with or without Bo Jackson's incredible athleticism.
