One of LeBron's Best Sneakers Makes Its Return This Month

Although we might think every moment in sneaker culture is incredibly important, there are only a handful that you can look back on and see exactly how they shifted the direction of the sneaker game. The 2012 All-Star collection from Nike Basketball was one of those moments. Looking back, it was really the first time that Nike put together a comprehensive collection of both new designs for the players in the All-Star game, but also a collection of retro product, all featuring the NASA-inspired "Galaxy theme.

Not only did the collection feature some of the most coveted grail-status Foamposites in the form of the "Galaxy" colorway, it saw the return of one of Penny Hardaway's most coveted sneakers, the Nike Air Flight One. On the performance side, Kobe, LeBron, and other Nike-sponsored athletes also laced up some incredible kicks. Between the limited nature of the releases, seeing so many of them throughout the weekend on court, and the early beginnings of what social media would become.

One of the many standout sneakers on court from the 2012 Nike All-Star Collection was the Nike LeBron 9 "Big Bang" colorway. Maybe it's the blindingly bright orange colorway, or the fact that we got to see Kobe Bryant and Lebron James face off in the prime years of their careers, but the "Big Bang" colorway has remained a grail for many sneakerheads ever since. 

For the 10th anniversary of its initial release, Nike and King James are bringing the Big Bang colorway back in retro form. The latest version feature all the features that made it so special, bright orange upper, galaxy print lining, glow-in-the-dark elements, and plenty of nostalgia.

According to House of Heat, he Nike LeBron 9 "Big Bang" will drop on the SNKRS app on February 18th for $240.
