Spring 2022 Air Jordan Retro Preview

Palace Skateboards x Crocs

As sneakerheads, we might not think much about what causes trends, other than the tried and true supply and demand that drives prices through the roof for certain releases. However, the pandemic and countless people working from home has been the gift that keeps on giving for one brand more than any other, Crocs. Those ugly but super cushy slip-ons that only a few years ago were only worn by moms, dads, and the young-at-heart grandparents, are now one of the most popular shoes in the sneaker game. Love them or hate them, the ease of slipping them on around the house gives them an advantage when it comes to functionality.

Crocs aren't just more popular, though, somehow they have become one of the most buzzworthy brands in the sneaker game this year, especially when it comes to collabs. Not only does every single collaboration that Crocs drops seem to sell out as quickly as coveted release on the SNKRS app, but some of them are still reselling for insane prices. For instance, this month's Salehe Bembury collab retailed for $85 and is selling for 4-5 times that amount on platforms like StockX. Now, the Salehe x Crocs were a bit different because the whole style was brand new, but even their collabs with Post Malone still sell for 2-3 times the original retail price. Crocs have even been included in many people's "best of the year" lists.

As if to signal that they aren't going anywhere anytime soon and what's to come for 2022, Crocs and Palace Skateboards are dropping their collaboration on the very last day of the year. Behind Supreme, Palace is possibly one of the most hyped brands in all of streetwear, so we can expect these camouflage-colored Classic Clogs to sell out with as much quickness as any sneaker release when they land on the Palace website on the 31st at 11 am EST. Of course, one of the most important elements to any Crocs release is all the bits that come with the kicks. For this release, Palace is including both of their logos and a handful of other pins. We might not have expected it, but yet here we are, still dealing with a pandemic, and talking about a Crocs collab as the final release of the year. 2021 has been crazy and 2022 is already off to a good start. What's next, a Supreme x Crocs collab? 👀
