With over 52 million followers on Instagram, 32 million subscribers on YouTube, and 53 million monthly listeners on Spotify, J Balvin is one of the most popular artists on the planet at the moment. So, it should come as no surprise that his partnership with Jordan Brand which we’ve watched grow with the release of his Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 2, is now moving into it's third stage.
J Balvin recently unveiled his upcoming Air Jordan 3 and to nobody’s surprise, his fellow Jordan Brand ambassador and musical collaborator, DJ Khaled began campaigning for Balvin to gift him a pair. While we hadn’t seen decent images when the rumored collab was first worn, thanks to ShotByRetro6, we have a detailed look at the J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 that Balvin recently wore while sitting courtside at the Miami Heat playoff game.
As for the shoes themselves, they’re much more simple than the bright tie-dye colors of Balvin’s AJ1, and apparently lacking in the ostentatious glow-in-the-dark details of his Air Jordan 2 release. The J Balvin Air Jordan 3 features a full white/ivory-colored leather upper with a subtle light grey Elephant Print reminiscent of the “Pure” AJ3. To give it some energy, Balvin added a multi-color gradient to the midsole and heel tabs, which is of course where you’ll find the J Balvin smiley face logo that helped make his first collabs truly unique.
As it stands, the J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 is set to release in full family sizing on September 2nd, and if the current resale prices of his previous Jordan collabs are any indication, these will sell out with quickness.
