Bodega Goes Gorpcore With A New Salomon Collab

Bodega Salomon’s X-Mission 4

Have you noticed that one of the biggest sneaker trends in recent years is kinda not even really sneakers? Trail shoes have boomed well beyond their natural habitat on the feet of people throughout Portland and Seattle. Thanks to the “Gorpcore” trend, it’s not just Portlanders and Seattleites that have embraced the “Good Ol’ Raisins and Peanuts” (aka GORP) vibe that comes with trail runners. Salomon has been leading the charge with countless collaborations, followed closely by New Balance, and a number of brands not typically found in the Sneaker Thrones of sneakerheads.

Now, Boston retailer Bodega is getting in on the GORP scene with their own take on Salomon’s X-Mission 4. Bodega has given a suede makeover to the chunky runner that typically uses a more traditional outdoorsy synthetic upper. Using a tie-dye resembling a “stormy sky,” and bright accent colors of yellow and pink, this X-Mission 4 has an aesthetic that is far from the general release colorways we are used to seeing. That could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on which side of the coin you land on but with quantities expected to be limited, you’ll need to decide ahead of time before these drop at Bodega on July 29th.
