Nike Just Dropped Its First Sneakers For The Metaverse

Love it or hate it, the "metaverse" isn't going anywhere. In fact, it's going to be a bigger part of everyone's future as it grows and one of the reasons that growth is inevitable is because globally-known brands like Nike are dropping sneakers specifically for the metaverse. Nike's first drop with NFT pioneers, RTFKT. For those that didn't know, Nike acquired RTFKT a few months back.

The RTFKT x Nike Dunk "Genesis" is the first virtual sneaker drop between the two brands. The "Genesis" NFT sneaker is inspired by the iconic Nike Dunk Low and dropped through the MNLTH NFT cube. Owners of the cube had to complete challenges that were posted on the RTKFT social channels in order to "unlock" the  RTFKT x Nike Dunk "Genesis" that also included a special skin vial that allows owners to customize their virtual shoe.
